Hardware Mold
the computer technology, information technology, automation technology and other advanced technologies into the traditional manufacturing technology, cross, integration, implementation of the transformation, which forms the advanced mold manufacturing technology. The application of these advanced mold manufacturing technologies has changed the situation that the quality of the traditional mold making technology depending on human factors and not easy to control. With new technologies, the quality of the mold depends only on physical and chemical factors, in which the overall level is easy to control, our mold manufacturing ability has become more powerful.

High Precision, the machining precision of our high speed milling is 10μm, and the processing precision of slow wire cutting technology can reach ±1.5μm. In HingTung, with the wire cutting technology of diameter 0.03 ~ 0.1mm, we can realize the one-time cutting of concave and convex mold, as well as the cutting of narrow groove of 0.04mm and rounded corner of radius 0.02mm. Meanwhile, our taper cutting technology has been able to carry out more than 30° taper precision machining.
High Surface Quality, because the work-piece temperature rise is small (about 3°C) during high speed milling, there is no metamorphic layer and micro-cracks on the surface, and the thermal deformation is small. Hence, with the high speed milling, the best surface roughness Ra by HingTung is less than 1μm, which reduces the subsequent grinding and polishing workload. In addition, the surface roughness of our slow wire cutting technology can reach Ra 0.1 ~ 0.2μm.
High Hard Materials Can Be Processed, we can mill steel from 50 to 54HRC, milling maximum hardness up to 60HRC.
EDM Milling, EDM milling uses high speed rotating rod-shaped electrode to fabricate 2D or 3D profile of work-piece, without the need to manufacture complex and expensive forming electrode. The EDM milling machine equipped by us are assembled with automatic compensation system for electrode loss, CAD/CAM integrated system, online automatic measurement system and dynamic simulation system, which reflect the strength of HingTung on current technologies.
Numerical Control Measurement Technology, the complexity of product structure inevitably leads to the complexity of mold parts. In order to provide customers with exactly the same products as the drawings, the accuracy of the mold parts is very important. Therefore, HingTung uses the most advanced Three-coordinates NC measuring machine to measure the geometric quantity of the mold parts.
In the production of hardware mold, various metal materials and non-metal materials are used, mainly carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, cast steel, hard alloy, low melting point alloy, zinc base alloy, aluminum bronze, synthetic resin, polyurethane rubber, plastic, laminated birch wood and so on. According to different customers' needs for products, HingTung will choose the most suitable mold materials, while ensuring that the mold has high hardness, high strength, high wear resistance, appropriate toughness, high quenching degree and no deformation (or less deformation) heat treatment and not easy to crack during quenching performance. Hence, reasonable selection of mold materials and correct heat treatment process are the key to ensure mold life.
Different customers will have different requirements for the use of molds, we will comprehensively consider the working state of molds, stress conditions, performance of processed materials, production batch and productivity and other factors, to make the appropriate choice of steel and heat treatment process, to ensure the maximum benefit of our customers. When the customer's products are produced in large quantities, we will choose the mold steel with high quality and good wear resistance as the working parts of the mold, punch and die materials. When the batch is not large, some low hardness mold steel with excellent processing properties will be selected to meet customer’s requirements and reduce the mold cost for customers.
Hardware Mold -All You Need To Know
Hardware molds, also referred to as tools or molds, are physical equipment utilized for shaping, forming, or producing particular products or components in large quantities. Typically, made from metal, these molds comprise two halves that when combined, form a cavity resembling the intended shape of the product. They are commonly used in mass production processes for manufacturing auto parts, electronic components, and consumer goods.
